If you’re doing low carb you’re eating various high nutrition proteins. But not all protein is the same?
.
Beef is always a favorite, but not easily usable by humans. Skinless turkey, chicken and fish are medium usable, but the star of the protein world are eggs! The incredible edible egg is 98% usable.
.
If you think you don’t like eggs make sure you’re cooking them properly. Use LOW heat to avoid overcooking or browning (ewwww!) You can lower the fat calories and cholesterol in scrambled eggs by using 1 whole egg + 2 egg whites instead of only whole eggs.
Perfect Scrambled Eggs (serves 1)
1 egg
2 egg whites
2 teaspoons I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Light
2 teaspoons finely minced ham
1/2 oz low fat cheese
salt & pepper to taste
.
Add margarine to nonstick skillet over medium heat. Whisk together egg, egg whites and ham. Reduce heat to low and pour eggs into skillet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook eggs stirring constantly with a spatula until cooked but still moist. Turn off heat, sprinkle with cheese to melt and serve!
