My name is Cindy and I have struggled with excess weight most of my life — anywhere from 20 to 50 lbs over the last 20 years with the last 10 years having been in early menopause. I suffered extensive and lengthy hot flashes for most of those years and the stress and embarrassment that go along with it. I wanted to reach 50 thin and energetic like Oprah did at 50 — but instead I did at 51 — I am so happy to say, that with Kimkins I was able to afford a new wardrobe in addition to my renewed energy and outlook on life.

When I embarked on this journey, I asked my sister to join me because we had both been following the same weight loss and gain path over the years. All the other times we would lose weight, it ended up as some sad competition, so this time we decided to be honest and weigh in every week and call each other to be accountable and supportive of our ups and downs through the process.

We both did regular Kimkins [Kimkins Classic] the whole time and I kept our carbs to a 20 per day minimum and never more than 30. We didn’t use Fitday or write a journal because my sister was that purpose for me. I see the website as a way to get the support you need and all the information to get you started and keep you going, ask questions, share your success and get some interesting recipes. Plus meeting some pretty wonderful people with the same goals as you.

Thanks to Kimkins both my sister and I have had more downs than ups. Single digit sizes are something we had not seen since our 20′s and now we have found that although the selection on the sale racks is much smaller in size 6/8s than in size 12/14s, it sure feels good to be picky when your decision is based on what you like and not what fits.
