Hi, my name is Jessica.
I started Kimkins on June 9, 2007. I had tried other diet plans before, but always gained the weight back when I thought I could do it on my own.
In June I was at my highest weight ever of 232+ pounds and started worrying about health problems in my future. I knew I HAD to do something while I still could.
I had never tried low carb diets before, so this was a big step for me. I was a carb addict; I loved bread and any sweets. I was skeptical at first but thought I would give it a try for a month or so and see what happened.
Well, after losing 20 pounds in a little over 2 weeks, I was hooked. It's been 3 1/2 months now and I have lost 60 pounds!
I started out doing just K/E for about a month, but then I was craving veggies so I switched to regular Kimkins. Lettuce never tasted better!
I also added exercise every day. I joined a gym a year and a half ago, but it took a year for me to start using the membership. I was not motivated before but after seeing the success I had the first month and reading about others on the website gave me the kick in the butt that I needed.
I'm not going to say I haven't struggled, but I have not "cheated" either. Joining the Teacher's Challenge in June really helped my success. I don't know if I would have lost what I have without that group. Being accountable to someone really helped.
I am SO glad I found Kimkins when I did.
