Do Strict Parents Cause Obese Kids?

Posted by in Untagged

Authoritarian parenting styles can lead to overweight children, a new study shows.

Disciplinarian mothers are 5 times more likely to raise chubby 1st graders than moms who are firm but not controlling.

Likewise, children with negligent or overly-permissive mothers were 2 times as likely to be overweight. These eating habits established early in life can lead to health problems such as heart disease later in life.

One reason may be that strict parents create a stressful environment, causing a child to turn to food for comfort and escape.

The same goes for children of neglectful or permissive parents, who may feel as though no one really cares about them.

Parents who show affection and respect within a non-constricting framework of rules better teach their children to make healthy diet and exercise choices. This flexible rule-setting style, also called authoritative, also leads to higher accomplishment in school and less depression in children.

Gotta Love Kimkins "Thank You" Notes!

Posted by in Untagged

 Dear Kimmer,

I just wanted to say I am sooooo thrilled that I found you! I have lost 15 pounds in my first 9 days!!!

I feel I am finally getting my life back thanks to your plan and support. I have spent the better part of 20 years hiding myself away because of my weight, always losing and putting it back on.

This time I know I can lose it and KEEP it off with your plan.

I am not hungry, I have tons of energy, and actually look forward to getting on the treadmill each day now.

Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart!

Support is What Makes Kimkins Special!

Posted by in Untagged

Here's a testimonial that gives an inkling of the true value of a Kimkins Diet membership!

"Thank you Kimmer and thank you all for your responses and input to me.

One of the best things about Kimkins is the encouragement and feedback that you get. It really motivates me to hang in there because I'm literally working on this program with others.

Kimmer thank you so much!

Regarding my continued cravings. I was just being a baby!! But through your responses, the light bulb came on and I "vow" to stop cheating because that is what I was doing.

I will revisit the food chart and start planning ahead to avoid these bumps that I am hitting. (I can do it!)

By the way today (Thursday) the scale says I have lost 8 pounds since starting on Monday. Woo Hoo!!! I can just imagine how much more I can lose if I can start to follow directions!

Wish me luck!"

How Do Diet Pills Work?

Posted by in Untagged

Let's clear the air on diet pills!

I just received an incredible email. A young mom was asking if there was a diet pill that worked in her sleep. Huh? The intent of a diet pill is to reduce your appetite so what good would it do in the middle of the night?

The "old school" diet pills
may have increased your metabolism because they were thinly veiled amphetamines, but no more.

The last of the dangerous "heart stopping" substances was ephedra which is now banned in the USA and most of the world. It's the substance which was held responsible for Olympic track star Florence Griffith-Joyner's heart attack (remember "Flo Jo" and her incredibly long fingernails?)

Current diet pills work by affecting the central nervous system of your brain. Yeah, not a place you want to mess around with -- so don't.

Diet pills do not "make" you lose weight! They work (maybe) by reducing your appetite, that's all. Once you stop taking them, you'll return to old food choices and regain the weight. You'll say "those pills didn't work." Yes they did, but you didn't.

Whether you pick a thermogenic diet like Kimkins where you automatically burn lots more calories or another very low carb diet, you'll enjoy natural appetite suppression within a few days. No pills needed.

Repeat after me:
There's no such thing as a "safe" diet pill. Just say no to drugs!
