Do you have difficulty sequencing your breathing with your exercises?
I learned that if you do your "counting" out loud, it will help you to make sure you are inhaling and exhaling at the proper point in an exercise move.
For example, when doing sit ups or crunches:
Starting position is supine on the back. First crunch or sit up top position is #1, if you say the count out loud, you are forcing yourself to exhale on the up movement, then as you lay back, you draw in your next breath. When you reach the top for the second rep and say "2", you are automatically exhaling, then again inhaling as you descend.
This can be used for any repetitive exercise to help you sequence your breathing.
